A new scraproom

well, almost new. Actually not even close, its the same room with a new desk! I got my new desk built last Sunday, not the saw horse desk I wanted but it was still hand made and has pink legs!! I finished the week 2 weeks ago with taking my room apart, and a BIG mess in the middle of the room! It took a day to build the desk, and a day of painting. Then it took another day to get everything where I wanted it. I even painted my shelves!! Can you guess the color?? Yep, PINK! Here are some pictures from my room

I also wanted to share with you something my friend Krisitn and I found the other day at michaels. We where in the American Girl section and came across the desk pad. It is really cute! Its 30 sheets and at a really good price, $9.99 we also used a 40% coupon so that made it cheaper!! It is really cute, and will come in handy for me! Just wanted to pass it along to you! I will be getting another for Julia, we are making her a desk this summer before she starts school. There is a picture of it in the slide show of my scrap room pics!

PINK! PINK! Everything will be PINK!!

Don't you just love the color pink!? Well, you may or may not but I LOVE it!! This weekend, I painted a few things pink, and when I say a few I only mean 2! I painted my display (is that spelled right??) and my large scraper watermelon pink. They are soo pretty! Wanna see them??

Aren't they soo pretty! I am hoping to have a new desk in a few weeks that will be that color, well the base will anyways.

Now, for a few other creations I made this past week. The first is a called a bragging board, not my original idea, I got the idea from another blog knockoff wood. She has the best furniture plans for those who want to build it. That is also where I found the desk I am hoping to have in a few weeks. I started by wanting the cameron desk, but changed my mind and now have decided on the saw horse desk 2 of them! So back to the board, I took a piece of wood, not sure the size and modge poged some cute paper onto it, then modge poged the clothes pins and glued them down to the wood. I was really impressed with how it turned out.

Now my favorite thing I made this weekend! My new sign!! I saw it last week at a scrapbooking store and had to have it!! So I made it! I used a blank metal sign that I bought from hobby lobby at valentines, some paper from micheals, cardstock from american crafts, vinyl and of course modge podge!! That stuff has become my new bff!! OH!! I also used my gypsy!! I am soo happy with the way it turned out. The center of the sign is from accent essentials and the letters are form opposites attract.

It came!!!

FINALLY!! After a week of waiting it is here!! Wanna know what it is?? It's a................Jukebox!!! You thought it was a gypsy didn't you! I just tried it out, and just from the 3 test cuts I did, I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! Why did I wait soo long. So, now I must decide what cartridges I will keep in it! What carts are in your jukebox?

New cartridges!!!

Well, as many of you know Cricut cartridges where on sale this week at Michalels! So, I went and got From my Kitchen and Sweethearts! Then decided I was not liking sweethearts too much so went to another M's and swapped it for the other one I really wanted Everyday Paper Dolls! LOVE THAT ONE!

I have to say the From my Kitchen one is cute but it really could have been better! Why is the mixer just a hand mixer, why isn't it a stand mixer or have to option to be a stand mixer??? That is the part that bugs me! Then it just seems like they didn't get too creative with some of the stuff. I don't know!

Then there is the Everyday Paperdolls, like I said above LOVE IT! I think Provo Craft did an excellent job on this paperdolls cart! I like that they didn't fill in spaces with multiple hair styles, shoes, etc.. I think everyone that I have showed it to has liked it! I think my personal favorite on the cartridge is the dog, she kinda looks like our Queenie dog!

A little bit of everything....

that is what I have been working on. Last week with the help of my mom and brother I kicked Julia out of my scrap room, well not really just her stuff. She had a dresser in here that I kept her clothes in and at some point started piling my junk on. I realized one night while laying in bed that if I moved it into her room and some of her toys not being played with out I would have more space. And what do you know I do!! It's like I got a whole new room! After I moved her stuff, I then realized I needed to move my room so I did. I have been happy with it so far, it only took 2 hours to get it the way I want.

As for scrapbooking, I am working on a 8x8 album of Julia's 4th b-day party. I need to finish it before she turns 5!! I'm almost done, just need 1-2 more pages then my title cuts and stuff like that. Its hard to adapt to 8x8 when I am used to 12x12. I made another card, for my cousins b-day coming up. I like the way it turned out, just have to remember to sign it!! The card I made a few weeks ago for my nephew, I forgot to sign and gave it to him blank! lol that's ok he still liked it,.........I hope. Now I have 2 more to make one for Antonio's 30th b-day and one for someone else! I am starting to like this card making thing. I like it even more that I am making the card when I need it to customize it for the person instead of making cards, storing them and pulling one out a few months later. Does that make since?? I have not yet started on my Whimsical Bugs DT challenge for this week. I am so lost on what to do. think, think, think......

I don't have any pictures of my current work, so I leave you with this picture I took last week. I walked by the bathroom and saw this:

Have you ever?

No, we are not playing a game! Have you ever started creating something that from the very beginning starts out wrong, yet you keep working with it because you can make it work? Well, that is what has happened to me! I started a card last night, and from the very beginning cut it wrong! But thought, no just go with it so that I did. Well, after putting paper on the card, trying to figure  out a “theme” I have come to this point:

  !cid_603

Yep it is in the TRASH!! Why, you ask? Because I am fed up with trying to make it work! I have decided to trash it and start over! Hopefully the second time around will start out better!

Cards…….

I have never really considered myself a card maker, but lately I have been making alot of cards. It seems that for every layout I complete I want to make a card. Like now, I am going to finish this post, and start on a card, when I should be going to bed. Oh well! Who needs sleep when you have a four year old to keep you awake! And I am certain that this ice cold glass of dr pepper isn’t going to help me sleep!

I have been working on clearing a few things off my scrap board the past few nights. Last night I made a bday card for a cousin. I used the hello kitty shape cartridge. I had a very hard time accepting how much space there is when layering stuff. I cut my layers out a quarter of an inch bigger. I am sure that is the way it is supposed to be, but I don't like it!

Tonight, I checked off cleaning out my scrap box. Although all I did was organize my scraps. You would never believe how much pink paper I have. Well you would if you knew me! I have enough pink scraps to last the rest of the year. I did good though got all the solids organized and put away. For the patterned paper I just stuck all that inside one section. Figured it was too much,. Ok, well I am going to work on my card now, or maybe just go to bed. Not sure yet! Happy Scrapping!

A little more sewing….

I went into my scrap room about an hour or so ago to work on my Whimsical Bugs challenge and came out with pictures’ of the cover I made for Miss. Cricut instead! It was VERY easy to make, especially since I messed up but my mistake ended up helping me more than hurting me! Now tomorrow I HAVE to work on my challenge!

A little sewing….

Well, I decided to make a cover for my beloved Kitchen Aid mixer! It only took me 2 try's and about 24 hours to complete it. I must say for having no pattern and very little sewing experience I did a good job…at least I think so! I even sewed ribbon on to it as well as the binding. Now, i just realized that my mixer is named Mr. Mixit but has a girlie cover..oh well it’s pretty! I am considering adding a pocket to it. Now, to start on my Cricut mixer and my design team challenge.

LOOK WHAT I GOT TODAY!!

I open the door today to check the mail, and sitting there is a package with another one rubberbanded to it. I know one is my Sesame Street Font, but what is the other? Well, I open it up first and sitting inside the envelope is the Cricut Sampler cartridge!! Along with the cartridge is a letter from Provo saying they put a indefinete hold on the Cricut Demo team. I was soo excited to get this cartridge, I have wanted it forever!! So, know that makes 29!! Hmm should I go for an even 30?? If you wanna see a few pics we took, you can head over to Boy Scrap'r and see them there!
I am also posting a picture of some of the things I got from CKC this past weekend. The pic only shows day 1, I did not get a pic from day 2. Off to finish dinner! Have a great night, we planned on eating outside tonight but its raining! You know now that I think about it, it has rained every night since we got out new patio furniture.

CKC Houston!!

Well, I made it thru CKC without spending every dime I have!! Mostly because I worked the Piggy Tales booth, so I made back what I spent plus some! This was the first year I have been to CKC, and had such a great time! I got to meet up with friends, and also meet lots of wonderful new people. In addition to buying some wonderful scrap items at a wonderful price! I also helped out at the Piggy Tales booth and Jennifer was awesome! I helped her with the make and takes and just about everything else!

So, what did I buy? Well what didn't I buy! I bought, stickles (like I needed more), glue glider pro refills, tombo refills, felt from Queen and Co, Bling bling, brads from eyelet outlet, 12x12 mats, ohh a HUGE fiskars cutting mat for $8 (this thing is HUGE dont know the size off hand and I am sitting outside) and of course Piggy Tales stuff! Oh, and 2 new scrapbok shirts one says and this is may fav; Work is for People who don't Scrapbook, and the other says; It's all fun and games until someone gets there eyelets punched out!.

I also got to see Cricut Dan in action! Learned a few things from him too! Well thats all for now I will post more later! Have a wonderful day!!

Strawberries

Thanks to my good "Scrapbook Friend" Kristin, who called me up yesterday to tell me how I had to go and get the Hello Kitty Greeting cartridge! Why, because of the strawberry! Anyone who know's me, know's my daughter LOVES strawberries! The funny thing is when I went over to Michael's on Sunday to pick up the Lyrical Letters cartridge (which is awesome by the way) I picked up HK Greeting, and the strawberry caught my eye but I was good and put it back! Until the the phone rang, and I took my happy little self back to m's to buy my new Hello Kitty Greetings. Now I have 28 and can say at this time there is not a single cartridge on my "need" list!

Any how, today I decided to play with DS and HKG! What fun I had!! I made a strawberry mesh page! It came out soo cute, and only took me half a day and 3 test cuts to get it just right! If you would like the cut file, leave a comment with your email address and I will send it to you ASAP. It does need to be cut on a 12x12 mat. Also, with a thick piece of cardstock, pressure max, speed max and blade 6. Trust me makes it alot easier when trying to get all the little pieces out!!

A layout

I have FINALLY completed my layout of me for the whimsical scraps dt challenge! I did put it off a week, but only cause I knew I would have such a hard time with it! It took me all week to figure out what to do. I just finished it about 5 mins ago, and still am not happy with it! This challenge was VERY hard for me. So, here is the end result!

Oh, and on a plus note I got 2 new cartridges today!! I got wild card, not sure if I am keeping it or not. And finally won Sesame Street font on ebay for $20!!! Yay me!!

Collage Layouts

Have you ever made a collage with your layout?? Now that I think of it, I have done one before *duh it's in my header*. Well, I have been trying very hard to get caught up on my pictures I haven't done Christmas yet, then I have Julia's bday party still need to order those prints. Lots to do!! Anyways, I started tonight with Christmas and thought since there are soo many pictures of our princess opening presents on Christmas morning I would trim them down and make a collage layout. OH was it hard!
I started with the idea of using a 8.5x8.5 page, then realized I needed more space so I used a 10x8.5 piece of paper. I arranged them all and put them down using repositionable adhesive, once I had them just right, well not really still have to trim one or two. I used my Glue Glider Pro to glue them! I realy like the way this looks, seems like a much nicer way to use mulitple pictures than having all those pictures on the page with different mats and stuff like that. Now all I need to do is pick some paper, cut some stuff from my Cricut, add a title then, well you get the hint basically just finish the page! Ok, off to bed back to MDO tomorrow need to get up EARLY!

New Scrap Blog

Boy Scrap'r Go and check it out!!

Do you ever

loose something that is right in front of you?? I swear the past few days I have been loosing everything! Each time I switch from my deep cut housing to the regular housing I loose the regular one. Then today, I went to clean a stamp I used and poof it was gone I did find it somehow it ended up on the floor. I went looking for my new pink bone folder and can't find that either! I think I either dropped it in my brother's car or left it at Kristin's. I hope I find it SOON I really liked that one, and not only cause it was pink but because it was sturdier than others. So I ask does that ever happen to you???

Goal update

Well, it's now the 18th of March and I don't think I have met even half of my goals! I have only made 1 card, well 2 but 1 is not finished yet. I have done maybe 3 layouts if that I think that includes what I did in Galveston. And as for my room, well its staying semi clean. I will say the jetmax cubes really help me keep it clean, especailly now that I have 4! Then there is the RAK, hmm not sure what to do for that...WAIT I got it!! I would tell you but if the person I am going to give this to reads my blog (and she better!) it will ruin the surpirse. I will post a picture on Sunday, cause i'm gonna give it to her on Saturday!! Hey, did you notice the counter?? I have had over 500 visits!! That is sooo cool, I was so excited I went shopping! Have you seen the new studio G cupcake stamps over at Michael's?, they are so cute I almost bought them all! But luckily I stopped myself. Well off to the dollar store, then to pick up Julia. Have a scrappy day!
